As their central business activity, our customer manages SIM ordering and activation process. This process entails integration with multiple vendors and several third party software solutions. They faced challenge of managing the process manually, which is costly as well as error-prone.
Our customer had additional challenges of integrating various divisions within their organization, who over time have evolved multiple n. These divisions have developed specific procedures to suit their specific needs and thereby a solution was sought that could help each division keep their existing modus-operandi as is.
Along with challenges of electronically bonding diverse systems, process needs to manage many legal requirements of privacy & confidentiality. These posed many security related challenges involving granular role based access control, SOX compliance for auditing, data encryption etc...
We delivered a software platform which allowed for total automation of SIM ordering and activation process. This entailed electronic integration with various vendors and multiple telecom solutions within the organization.
The solution catered to various security requirements of role based access control, intuitive user management interface, encryption of files, SOX regulation compliance and audit trails.
The platform enabled cross solution integration using an open source business process management solution and thereby allowing for extensibility to cater for future needs.
The software solution allowed with ability to manage & monitor ordering process and vendor delivery. Along with this, intuitive dashboards were provided to keep administrators in full control of ordering flow and vendor performance.
The end-to-end SIM order management enabled cross system integration of various pieces leading to overall solution to customer's business problem. Thus through single platform the heterogeneous systems could be controlled further simplified by LDAP integration & single-sign-on facility.
A low cost solution, heavily leveraging open source software, was delivered with classical service-oriented-architecture (SOA) implemented & RESTful Web services API for easy integration to third party solutions.
